✨ Disney Day (September 1, 2023)

🏰 It was the first time I had gone to Disneyland in 6 years. I didn't know what to expect but I was so excited to go to a theme park with my friends for the first time. Since transferring to CSUF from my hometown of Ventura County last year, this is also the first time that I went to Disneyland since moving to Orange County. I thought before I transferred that I would go all the time since Disney is only 10 minutes away from campus. That is not the case for me as I forgot that life still exists and I can't just go to Disney whenever I feel like it.

🎢 The best part of the trip was that I got to go for free! My friend works for Disneyland and had a free day to take the three of us. It was a dream come true because I wasn't worried about maximizing my money's worth from the ticket prices alone. That being said, we had park hopper access and started at California Adventure at around 12 p.m. The picture on the left is one of my favorites from the trip because it was taken right as I was scared by the character of Shuri in her Black Panther costume. I forgot characters existed in California Adventure until she came up and surprised me!

💗 The last photo shows how long we stayed. We stayed till around 9 p.m. when they announced that the fireworks would probably be canceled that day even if it was the first day of Halloween time at Disney. The castle was incredibly beautiful and I felt the Disney magic that I had as a little kid. I don't work at Disneyland and haven't been in so long that it made me realized how much I missed going there! I definitely want to go back after finals this semester or maybe when I finish my senior year in the spring! Disneyland is one of the biggest aspects of culture shock I feel living in Orange County because of how normal it is to talk about, go to and work at. I am still not used to it being a transfer but now I appreciate why people talk about it so much here!
